Aug 24 2002, Montreal, Quebec, Canada Alessandro d'Alatri at the Press conference for the italian movie Casomai, presented in the Official Competition of the 26th World Film Festival. , Au g23 2002, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada Born in Rome in 1955, Alessandro D'Alatri made his showbusiness debut at the age of eight acting in a production of The Cherry Orchard directed by Luchino Visconti. Before long, he was a veteran, playing roles in the theatre, on television and in the movies. The latter included roles in De Sica's GARDEN OF THE FINZI-CONTINIS and films by Valerio Zurlini and Ettore Scola. He began directing commercials and eventually became one of Italy's top directors of advertising films, earning prizes worldwide. He made his directorial debut in features with AMERICANO ROSSO (1991), which won that year's David di Donatello Prize for best first film in Italy.
