Rivkin joined the Women’s Auxiliary Air Corps in 1943 and served for two years during WWII. She was one of the only female soldiers in the China-Burma-India theater of the war and served as a photographer. After she left the serve, Rivkin had a 50-year career in the New York fashion industry.
At the time she passed away, Rivkin was living at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Northwest Washington, D.C.
