                             This year, Gaz Métro is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary. Over the<br />
years, the company has become a pillar of Quebec's energy sector. Today, with<br />
$2.7 billion in assets and over 1,500 employees in Quebec, Gaz Métro continues<br />
to pursue its traditional activities together with targeted growth.<br />
    Gaz Métro is the largest natural gas distributor in Quebec and one of the<br />
largest in Canada. With some 167,000 commercial, institutional and residential<br />
customers across Quebec, the company is a strategic player in the province's<br />
economy.<br />
    In less than five years, Gaz Métro has made remarkable strides thanks to<br />
its continuous improvement process. In November 2006, those achievements were<br />
recognized with a Grand Prix québécois de la qualité (Quebec Quality Award) in<br />
the major utility, corporation or corporate subsidiary category.<br />
    After ten years at the helm of Gaz Métro, on February 7 president and CEO<br />
Robert Tessier will take on a new challenge: he will become the company's chairman.<br />
    Mr. Tessier share his thoughts on the major economic changes and challenges facing Quebec companies and society.<br />
