History 14-yr. old striker, Fola La Follette, and Rose Livingston
[no date recorded on caption card]Fola La Follette was the daughter of Wisconsin Governor and U.S. Senator Robert M. La Follette Sr., and was a Broadway actress as well as a political activist. Paragraph 8 on this web page mentions La Follette's support of a garment workers strike in 1913.
Rose Livingston was an ex-prostitute turned social reformer, known during the era as "The Angel of Chinatown" for her work with the prostitutes in the area.
