Downtown night beat: Patrol Sgt. Eric Hudson (left) and Constable Ronald McCall of Metro police 52 division; check a hitrun case in the heart of the city. General policy is to man each of the force's 430 patrol cars with one man. But in areas where crime rate and population density are high an extra man is added. Officers interviewed by The Star thought two-man patrols would cut down attacks.<br />
