1940 - 1944 WAR - HOLLANDE Mur de l atlantique

Photo from the NIOD's Huizinga collection. Tree trunks from the Haagse Bos, cut down for the construction of the Fortress Clingendael as part of the 'Atlantic Wall', are loaded in inland vessels on the Koningskade, The Hague. Menno Huizinga was part of the Hidden Camera and took pictures illegally during the occupation. He did this mainly in his hometown The Hague.
